The relationship between Outside Air Temperature (OAT) and aircraft altitude is critical for flight safety, particularly when OAT falls below the International Standard Atmosphere (ISA) values. In such scenarios, an aircraft's true altitude can be significantly lower than its indicated altitude, thereby heightening the risk of terrain hazards and potential altitude or positional errors.

To address these concerns, it is essential to implement appropriate adjustments to altitudes above airport elevation. This can be accomplished by either increasing the heights of obstacles or modifying the published altitudes and heights accordingly. The application reviewed here provides essential support for pilots in navigating these adjustments. Utilizing the ICAO Cold Weather Temperature Correction table or applying relevant engineering equations, the app adheres to the guidelines established by PANS-OPS, thereby enhancing situational awareness and improving flight safety in colder conditions.
